Description

ntfsclone will restore images of NTFS partitions on larger devices without problems, but the resulting filesystem does not use all of the available space on the larger partition.

To reproduce:
  • Create a Windows VM, 40GB disk.
  • Go to Computer / Management / Storage / Disk Management
  • Disk 0 is 40GB, contains a single partition of size 40GB, yet the actual NTFS filesystem is 13GB in size.

An ntfsresize was added after ntfsclone in the OS Provider, closed
